• Using Chatmosis constitutes acceptance of these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you disagree, please do not use the platform.

2. Eligibility

• You must be at least 13 years old to use Chatmosis. Users under 13 will be banned upon discovery.
• You must provide accurate information during signup and maintain a secure account.

3. User Conduct

• Respect: Do not harass, bully, or use abusive language (e.g., profanity, hate speech, threats). Violations result in warnings or bans.
• Content: Do not post illegal, harmful, or offensive material (e.g., explicit content, spam). This includes nicknames and messages.
• Security: Do not attempt to hack, exploit, or disrupt the platform (e.g., DDoS attacks, unauthorized access).
• Impersonation: Do not impersonate others or create fake accounts.

4. Content Ownership and Expiration

• Ownership: You retain ownership of your content (posts) but grant us a non-exclusive license to display it on the platform.
• Expiration: Global chat posts expire after 48 hours to keep the platform fresh.

5. Chat Room Rules

• Ownership: Chat room owners are responsible for moderating their rooms and enforcing these Terms.
• Content: Room owners may remove messages or members that violate these Terms.
• Privacy: While we provide tools for private rooms, we cannot guarantee complete privacy. Be mindful of what you share.
• Expulsion: Room owners may remove members at their discretion, but may not discriminate based on protected characteristics.

6. Account Responsibility

• You are responsible for securing your account (e.g., strong passwords, not sharing credentials).
• We are not liable for unauthorized access due to your negligence.

7. Intellectual Property

• Chatmosis’s design, code, and branding are our property. You may not copy, modify, or distribute them without permission.
• User-generated content must not infringe on third-party rights (e.g., copyrighted material).

8. Service Availability

• We strive to keep Chatmosis available but may experience downtime due to maintenance, attacks, or technical issues. We’re not liable for interruptions.
• We may modify or discontinue features without notice.

9. Limitation of Liability

• Chatmosis is provided "as is." We’re not responsible for damages from your use, including data loss or third-party actions.

10. Termination

• You may delete your account via Feedback, ending your agreement with us.
• We may terminate your access for violating these Terms, with or without notice.

11. Changes to Terms

• We may update these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted here, and continued use implies acceptance.

Your privacy is a top priority at Chatmosis! This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information when you use our platform. By using Chatmosis, you agree to the practices outlined below.

1. Information We Collect

• Account Information: When you sign up, we collect your email address, nickname, and a hashed version of your password. This data is stored securely in our MySQL database.
• Content Data: Messages and Global chat posts you create are stored on our servers. Global chat posts expire after 48 hours.
• Usage Data: We log your last login time ("last seen") to track session activity. IP addresses may be logged for security purposes (e.g., rate limiting login attempts).
• Device Information: We may collect basic device details (e.g., browser type, operating system) to optimize your experience and troubleshoot issues.

2. How We Use Your Information

• Service Delivery: To enable account creation and Global chat interactions.
• Security: To detect and prevent abuse (e.g., spam, hacking attempts) and enforce our Terms and Conditions.
• Improvement: Aggregated, anonymized data may be used to enhance platform features and performance.

2.1 Chat Room Data

• Messages sent in chat rooms are stored until the room is deleted or the message is manually removed by a room owner.
• Room membership information (who is in which room) is stored to facilitate the service.

3. Data Storage and Security

• Storage: Your data is stored on secure servers hosted by Hostinger, using MySQL databases with restricted access.
• Encryption: Passwords are hashed using industry-standard algorithms (e.g., bcrypt). Data in transit is protected with HTTPS/SSL encryption.
• Retention: Global chat posts are automatically deleted after 48 hours. Other data is retained until you delete your account.
• Backups: We maintain encrypted backups to recover from technical issues, retained for up to 30 days.

3.1 Chat Room Security

• While we implement security measures, chat room owners and members can see your messages and nickname in rooms you join.
• Room owners have additional privileges to manage members and content in their rooms.

4. Data Sharing

• No Third-Party Sharing: We do not sell, trade, or share your personal information with third parties, except as required by law (e.g., court orders).
• Service Providers: We use Hostinger for hosting and may rely on their infrastructure for data processing, subject to their privacy policies.
• Public Content: Global chat posts are visible to other users as part of the platform’s functionality.

5. Your Rights

• Access: You can view your account details by logging in.
• Deletion: Request account deletion via the Feedback section. All associated data (posts, etc.) will be permanently removed within 7 days.
• Correction: Contact us to update inaccurate information (e.g., email or nickname, if available).
• Opt-Out: You can stop using the platform at any time; no marketing emails or tracking occurs.

6. Cookies and Tracking

• Session Cookies: We use secure, HTTPS-only cookies to manage your login sessions. These expire when you log out or after a period of inactivity.

7. Children’s Privacy

• We do not knowingly collect data from users under 13 years old. If identified, such accounts will be terminated, and their data deleted immediately.

8. Security Measures

• We implement safeguards like encryption, prepared SQL statements, and rate limiting to protect against unauthorized access, data breaches, and abuse.
• Despite our efforts, no system is 100% secure. You’re encouraged to use strong, unique passwords and report suspicious activity.

• We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. Updates will be posted here, and continued use implies acceptance.
